The time has come for the best gaming system – november 2017, let’s see how the best gaming system looks. Of course it would have been extremely simple to choose the most expensive components (SLI of GTX 1080 Ti Extreme, Intel i9-7900X, etc.) and job done. But taking into account the astronomical price (around 3,000 Euros just what we have called above), the number of people who would allow such a system or who would be willing to throw such a money on a gaming system is narrowing down.

Using the components below (in version 1) you should play almost everything at ultras at 4k @ 60 FPS resolutions. Version 1 is also optimized for overclocking, so you can squeeze a 10-15% with an air cooling. additionally, there will be an alternative recommendation – Variant 2 – but it also fits into the top 1080p gaming system.

The Processor

The Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake processor, 3.70GHz, 12M, Socket 1151. Intel’s mainstream range comes with the unlocked multiplier and requires the purchase of a separate cooler – it should work good for the next 4-5 years in the company of a GTX 1080/1080 Ti. Compared to a 7700K Kaby Lake we have 2 extra cores and some more cache per processor. Ideal cooler would be a Noctua DH-15.

  • Cache : 12 MB
  • Socket : 1151
  • Only compatible with the 300 Series Chipset
  • Frequency processor : 3700 MHz
  • Turbo Boost up to : 4300 MHz / 4700 MHz
  • Operating mode : 32/64 bits
  • Number of cores : 6 Cores / 12 Threads
  • Production technology : 14 nanometers
  • Cooler : No.
  • Power : 95W
Intel Core i5-8600K Coffee Lake, 3.60GHz, 9MB, Socket 1151 BOX – This i5 is a powerful, latest 6-core Intel (Coffee Lake) processor, but without multithreading. You have to buy a separate cooler for a higher price because the K versions have the unlocked multiplier and often higher ones.

  • Cache : 9 MB
  • Socket : 1151
  • Only compatible with the 300 Series Chipset
  • Frequency processo r: 3600 MHz
  • Turbo Boost : up to 4100 MHz / 4300 MHz
  • Operating mode : 32/64 bits
  • Number of cores : 6
  • Production technology : 14 nanometers
  • Cooler : No
  • Power: 95W

The Motherboard

Gigabyte Z370 motherboard Aorus Gaming 5, Socket LGA1151 – The Z370 chipset is the only that works on 1151 Coffee Lake socket. This model is packed with upgrades, built for overclocking, so theoretically it would approach 5 GHz. The Gigabyte Gaming 7 has the best VRMs on a motherboard, so you can still put $50 and go on 7 if you can. Attention, the Z270 series does not support Coffee Lake!

GIGABYTE Z370 Motherboard AORUS Gaming 3, Socket 1151. Unfortunately, there have not been any cheaper motherboards with overclocking chipsets of the B360 or H370 type, that’s why I recommended a Z370 but more cheap.

The Video Card

ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti STRIX video card. The best gaming system deserves the best available video card. If you find a model from another manufacturer, under $1100, go for the cheapest.

MSI GTX 1070. As a manufacturer’s choice as going on an implementation from MSI, Gigabyte, Asus or Zotac. Or if you can wait a bit, the GTX 1070 Ti can already be pre-configured and performs close to a GTX 1080.

RAM Memory

Memory Corsair Vengeance LED 32GB (2x16GB), DDR4 3000 MHz. Corsair DDR4 RAMs to allow overclocking. I would also recommend G.Skill memories at 3200 Mhz that are quite cheap.

Memory HyperX FURY Black 16GB, DDR4, 2133MHz, CL14, 1.2V, 2x8GB kit (16GB, lowest today, cheaper due to lower speed and higher latency)

The Storage

Solid State Drive (SSD) SanDisk Ultra II, 480GB (SanDisk Ultra II Series with MLC Memory is an inspired choice for a top gaming system)

Solid State Drive (SSD) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, SATA III – Although I have been criticized because I have recommended Samsung Evo SSDs, because they have TLC memories, as well as the “value option” still seems to me a good choice)

In addition to the SSD, you need a classic HDD as high as 2TB at 7200 rpm. I went to my personal computer on 2 Segate 2TB units at 7200 rpm and I felt a significant performance boost over the old Samsung Spinpoint F3 of 1TB.

Power supply – Here’s the best look at this article which is quite detailed in this chapter.
